Eastern Pleatau Children Support Programm
Eastern Plateau Children Support Programme (EPCSP) is a non-profit organisation founded by Meshack Itumo. The long term aim of the organisation is to establish a children’s home in the rural area of “Kwawanzilu” (Kenya) which should be able to carry itself through its own agriculture.
Currently there are seven children aged between three and eight living in the children’s home called “Maua Villa” but in the future we hope for Maua Villa to provide a home for up to 50 children. The kids should be supplied with warm meals every day and also have the possibility to go to school. In the coming years we are aiming to build our own school on the adjacent plot of land because we believe that education is the major key for an independent and successful future.
We started this project with the basics in 2014. Bought a piece of land and build a hut with two rooms and a toilet shed. The project expanded in 2015 by a kitchen and another three room house build out of proper stone briks in comparison to the first house which was made out of mud. More about what we achieved while our last trip.

The Outreach Programme runs under the name “Tulee Watoto Wetu” (Let’s be our children keepers) and currently takes care of around 100 children from the area of Kwazanzilu. Underprivileged children from poor families are taken into this programme. In most cases the children get neglected by their families which could lead to wayward behaviour in some cases. The Outreach Programme is important in meeting basic needs. Through a sponsorship of only 10 euros per month you give one child the chance of attending a primary school.
